Cara's new nickname: Neo

Cara's never seen a hand that fast!
She'll be starring the fourth installment of the Matrix, I'm sure.

Cara's first bath

Tonight Brigid and I gave Cara her first real bath. Now don't get me wrong, we weren't dealing with the stinky baby on the block... we have been cleaning her! This was just the first time in the tub.

Begley visit

The Begleys came up from Weymouth today to meet Cara.

Sara and Cara got along marvelously!

The Begley family photo.

Family Ties

Cara may not know it, but she has been born into a pretty big family. All were very excited to meet her.

Cara's very first visitors!

Auntie Joanie came home from St. Louis to hang with Cara... okay, maybe she had some other stuff to do too but she definitely wanted to hang with Cara.

Auntie Amy and Uncle Kevin visiting Cara in the hospital.

Auntie Chris and cousins Sarah, Ruthie and John visiting Cara in the hospital.

Cousins Laura and Emily hanging with Cara.

Cara's New Friend

We went for a walk today since the weather was so beautiful. Cara had a great time and slept pretty much the whole time. Apparently fresh air and some activity are just the things for a fine nap.

Before we headed out, Cara posed for this picture with her new friend.

Connolly Boys

I don't want it to seem like all we do is hang out and take pictures of Cara. Here is a picture of the Connolly boys (on their visit to meet Cara).

Welcome Home Cara!

After getting home mother, daughter and driver, errrr, dad, are learning their parts nicely.
Daughter: eat, sleep, fill diaper, repeat.
Mom: feed baby, rest 10 minutes, repeat.
Dad: carry baby around trying to explain why he can't feed baby, rest during feeding, repeat.
Not tough to understand, it's in the doing...

Cara's welcome home sign.

For a big baby, she is swimming in this duck outfit!

Everyone is happy to have Cara home.
Now whether she is happy to be home, we can't say for sure.
This picture may provide some insight!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Happy birthday to my mom today. Brigid and I were kind enough to get her a brand new grand daughter! No thank you card necessary Mom, it's all good.

Cara Begley's Hospital Adventure

The staff at the Elliot Hospital were fantastic. It certainly didn't hurt that Brigid's sister Amy works in the maternity ward and one day we actually Amy as our maternity nurse! While we were at the Elliot many friends and family were able to swing by to meet the newest addition to the family, which really meant a lot to us -- Cara most of all, she kept going on and on about how popular she is. After three days of having Cara with training wheels (a staff of nurses, doctors, and aids) it was time to take her out into the real world.

The gang came up to see Cara. We set the record for number of people in a maternity room (15 including Kevin and Amy hiding on the other side of the camera).

The Begleys: You can see that mom is looking great.

Cara Joan Begley Born May 12, 2005

Cara Joan Begley was born on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 9:34 PM. She weighed in at 8 pounds 6.6 ounces and was 21.5 inches long.

These two pictures were taken on May 15th, the day she came home from the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire.

A shot of Cara's full head of hair. I think that Cara gets this dark black hair from her Latino heritage.
