Another great weekend at Sunapee Lake

It was another great weekend at the lake. The breeze coming off of the water really cooled it down, despite the high temperatures. The fun turned out to be too much for Cara, however, as she couldn't sleep even for a second and we ended up coming home on Saturday night so that she could get some rest. Once in the car, away from the excitement, she was out cold... which was great news for us!

Cara and her mom hung out on the porch at Sunapee.

My fine hair-do embarassed Cara... as she is showing here.

Katie and Joe brought the girls down to the lake. Mt. Sunapee overlooks the lake.

Ellie loves the water...

...while Charlotte learns to.

Ellie's so cute

If I had no sense of humor, I would post only this picture of my niece Ellie... she is very cute...

... but c'mon, look at how proud she is of her three teeth!

I know that it doesn't look like it, but Cara really loved her new friend Carolyn.

Nothing makes a dad happier than a sleeping baby.

Cara's first Fathers' Day

Okay, admittedly this is more exciting for me because it is my first Fathers' Day as a father; Cara is just treating it like any other day. Cara, her mom, and her grandma took me out to breakfast for the big day. It was all very exciting... I am sure that Cara was overwhelmed and that is why she took at nap at the restaurant during my "What it means to be a father" speech. Don't all dads have to make a speech?

Cara's first Plymouth cookout

Cara's grandparents had a cookout down in Plymouth MA today. Cara headed down, chauffeured by us of course, and had a great time. She was fantastic on the drive down, sleeping the whole way. ONce we got down there she was great with all of the commotion and her ride back was super. She was awake for about 30 minutes but wasn't upset at all to be heading home on the highway. She's going to be a trucker.

Cara was very excited to meet Jan... this is how Cara shows excitement.

Lainie and Cara were hanging out and got along marvelously.

I don't know why your Nana would say such a thing either!

Bill was able to calm Cara down as the excitment
wound down and folks filtered out.

Cara's one month appointment

Cara's big appointment was today: one month (okay, scheduling made the appointment at 5 weeks, actually one month and four days). She did great, once again going to the bathroom as soon as we took off her diaper for the weigh in to impress the nurse with her cool trick. She weighed in at 9 pounds 8 ounces, which was excellent (about an ounce a day since the last weigh in). She also hit the 90th percentile for height... WNBA perhaps?

Cara's first trip to Lake Sunapee

I guess with a new baby you get a lot of "firsts." On Friday night Cara headed up to Lake Sunapee for the first time. It turns out that she loves it as much as the rest of the family. She had a great weekend sleeping in her basket and in the arms of family.

Cara's first time up to Lake Sunapee. She didn't do any swimming this go around, but next time we'll see.

Cara loves her basket.

While Cara was getting comfortable on the island, the rest of us had a great time as well.

Dads are responsible. I am sure that Brigid is taking good care of Cara back on the island...

Charlie teaches his dad how to fish.

Keith's first time waterskiing was up at the lake just last year... you can see the improvement!

Despite Amy's break from waterskiing, she was still able to return to waterskiing without getting her hair wet... no, seriously, it's true, look closely.

Alex loves to party.

Charlie eating his mom's birthday cake. Charlie, you have a little chocolate on your. Not so much here, or here... but right here.

Alex digs the cake too.

Cara meets Benjamin Dale Chisholm

Jennie and Gary had a beautiful baby boy named Benjamin Dale Chisholm, whooo hooo!

Benjamin Dale Chisholm!

Doin' what baby's do best... or what the best babies do best.

Cara meets Benjamin....

...and is suspicious of the little fella!

Cara's weigh in

We headed over to the doctor's today for a weigh in. Cara came in at 8 pounds 10 ounces, a very healthy 6.9 ounce gain from last Friday. It must be all the activity...

Cara, calm down... now calm down.
